How do I set up a crypto wallet?

Learn how to set up supported Cardano crypto wallets.

Supported Crypto Wallet Providers

There are many different type of crypto wallets to select from. They all serve the same purpose, with many available for desktop or mobile use, and all having different features.

Currently, Dropspot supports the following Cardano crypto wallet providers: NAMI, Typhon and Flint.

How do I set up a Crypto wallet?

Follow this process to set up your crypto wallet and start your NFT adventure!

Step 1: Download and Install the Wallet Extension or Mobile App

Once you've chosen a crypto wallet, the next step is to download and install the browser extension or applicable mobile app.

For example, if you have selected NAMI as your wallet provider, download the applicable wallet extension here https://namiwallet.io/ by clicking on the Chrome button on the NAMI wallet website. On the Nami Wallet Chrome Extension Page, click on 'Add to Chrome' to install the Nami Wallet Chrome Extension to your Browser.

Step 2: Create New Wallet

You will need to create a new wallet and set up an account. You may also be asked to accept the Terms of Use of the wallet provider.

Step 3: Setting up the New Wallet

Setting up the wallet usually involves setting up a wallet name, password and also generating what’s called a seed phrase, a string of words that can be used to recover your wallet if you forget your password.

The wallet name is usually irrelevant, but the password must be remembered since it will be used to login to your wallet on your specific browser or mobile app.

Seed Phrase

It is also very important to remember and note down your Seed phrase, saving this in a safe and private location. When creating your wallet account, you will be asked to retype your Seed phrase. Your seed phrase is the key to your wallet, so if you lose it, you will never be able to access your wallet again. You will need your seed phrase if you forget your password or need to install this wallet on another device.

Once you have installed your wallet and created an account, you can connect your wallet to Dropspot and begin your NFT adventure!
